Amanda, I agree with this totally but the problem is that whilst people in wealthy countries are aware of the climate disaster, they still aren't touched by it enough to actually accept how big the problem is. I had thought that was because the threat was not imminent to them. Having watched the response to COVID I am not sure that even that is the case.
