Eric, I agree with much of what you say but I see it slightly differently. We tell our kids to follow their dreams which is good. We then try to distort those dreams by telling them that only those dreams that guarantee lots of money are worthy. If we valued people and their dreams for more than just their monetary generating capacity we would be in a far healthier place and artists wouldn’t have to keep trying to be lawyers.
