I have gone back and forth on the death sentence for years in my own mind. I would like to think that I now don't believe in it, but at the same time I know that if one of my own had been among the dead that day I would be advocating for death.

In an American context, the constantly reopening of cases and the dragging out of sentences seems to just add to the confusion. All of this exacerbated by the fact that society itself is very divided at the moment.
