I have spent a bit of time with the bushmen in southern Africa. They are a very happy people and they are very un-acquisitive. I think in many ways, this is because if they can't carry it, it isn't really worth owning. I wonder if our desire to own more and more (far more than we can consume in many cases) is not the root of many of our social and environmental problems.
