This is a great article and I have been watching this subject for some time. Although it needs to be done sensibly, the argument for tree planting remains very powerful. The risk in pointing out potential pitfalls is that many people will shrug their shoulders and say 'OK tree planting doesn't work'. Many people have a very shallow grip on what it means to do something for the environment and seem to be looking for an excuse to abandon even the smallest efforts.
